The Lady Bison cross country team of Oklahoma Baptist claimed third
place in the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree Saturday in Stillwater.
OBU finished with a team time of 1:40:25 and with 147 points, averaging 20:05 per runner. Butler Count Community College won with 72 points, followed by Midwestern State at 143. Lubbock Christian was fourth at 207.
Other Sooner Athletic Conference schools in the 26-team event included Oklahoma Christian in 10th at 249, Southern Nazarene in 19th at 496 and Northwestern Oklahoma State in 25th at 662. Wayland Baptist competed in the University division, placing ninth with a team time of 1:51:57, which would have been 19th fastest in the college division.
Becca Murdock led the Lady Bison in 13th place with a time of 19:41, followed by Natalie Pedersen in 27th at 20:04 and Danielle Cummins in 31st at 20:07. Meredith Gardner was 34th in 20:12 and Alexis Taylor was fifth and rounded out OBU's scoring in 42nd with a time of 20:21. Aubrie Dolliver was 54th at 20:39 and Jessica Herbert was 57th at 20:46.
OBU also entered Tatiana Stoltzfus (21:01), Ashley Cronin (21:05), Kayla Lee (21:15), Brandi Thompson (21:22), Sara Branson (21:35), Erica Rackley (21:38), Stephanie Guilmette (21:43), Sarah Taylor (22:26), Samantha Kellogg (22:38), Katy Palmer (23:20) and Kirsten Stukey (23:40).
Next action for the Lady Bison is Oct. 25 at the Mid-States Classic in Winfield, Kan.
