Lubbock Christian knocked down 13 three-pointers to fend off a double-sided offense attack from Gabby Mattox and Bridget Reynolds, handing the Lady Bison a 95-84 setback in the Noble Complex Saturday.

Mattox had 28 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists while Reynolds had a career-best 28 points in the loss.

After 10 lead changes in the first 15 minutes, Lubbock Christian took the lead for good with a 16-6 run. The Lady Chaps led 47-39 at the half.

Lubbock Christian led by 13 midway through the second half, but OBU was able to get the lead down to six points, 74-68, as Reynolds scored five points in a 9-2 run.

LCU got the lead back to 11 before an 8-2 OBU run made it an 81-76 game with 3:37 to play. The Lady Bison got no closer than that.

Brittany Hampton had 22 points and Whitney Wehmeyer and Emily Atkins had 19 apiece for the Lady Chaps.

Both teams were able to keep the turnovers in single digits.

Now 3-9 overall and 1-3 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, OBU hosts Wayland Baptist at 1 p.m., Monday.
