The 2011 Sooner Athletic Conference Track Championship will draw the top NAIA performers in eight events to Shawnee Saturday.
In all, there will be 16 top-three NAIA event performers in the field.
Host Oklahoma Baptist leads the way with the top-ranked
Verone Chambers in the women's 400, the top-ranked women's 4x400 relay, the top two women's 400 meter hurdlers in
Nikita Tracey and Chambers, the third seed in the women's and men's pole vault in
Evan Shimanek and
Jeff Lewis, respectively, the No. 2 men's 110 high hurdles man in
Derik Douglas.
Additionally, the final event of the day - the men's 4x400 relay - will include the NAIA's top three teams in top-ranked Oklahoma City, No. 2 Wayland Baptist and No. 3 Oklahoma Baptist.
Wayland Baptist also brings in the top-ranked women's 4x100 relay team, the nation's fastest time in the women's 200 meters in Leandria Lee and the third-ranked women's long-jumper in Bianca Grant.
Oklahoma Christian features the top 1500 meter and 5000 meter man in Silas Kisorio and women's hammer throw national leader Denise Mattoon.
The action begins with field events at 10 a.m., while the first running event starts at 10:30 with the women's 4x800 relay.
The last event is scheduled to launch at 4:30 p.m.
