Oklahoma Baptist evened its season and Sooner Athletic Conference men's
soccer records with a 3-2 victory at Wayland Baptist Saturday.
Victor Costa drew first blood for the Bison with an assist from
Tito Silva in the 12th minute for the 1-0 OBU lead.
The score was tied 1-1 on an own goal by OBU 21 minutes into the game, but the Bison took a 2-1 lead in the 28th minute when
Adam Salas scored an unassisted goal.
Wayland tied the game again when Cristhian Ospina recorded his first goal of the season with 13 minutes left in the half.
Tim Thomsen got the game-winner 3:15 into the second half, using a double assist from
Matheus Costa and
Mario Maia.
OBU had eight shots on goal for the afternoon, including four by Silva and one by Maia.
Now 6-6 overall and 2-2 in the SAC, the Bison host Oklahoma City Tuesday.
