Oklahoma Baptist had 11 of its cross country runners honored as NAIA Scholar Athletes - an award that requires a minimum grade point average of 3.50 and junior or senior academic status.


Three Bison and eight Lady Bison earned the distinction.

The three men are Austin Germiller, Cordell Baker and Neal Ellis. The women are Laura Voth, Katy Palmer, Brandy Moore, Sara Branson, Kirsten Stukey, Aubrie Dolliver and Nadia Majed.

Germiller is a junior computer science major from Parachute, Colo. Baker is a junior biology major from Sapulpa and Ellis, a junior from Midlothian, Texas, is majoring in applied communications.

McCarthy, a junior from Tulsa, Moore, a junior from Midlothian, Texas, and Dolliver, a senior from Prairie Village, Kan., are all nursing majors.

Palmer, a senior health and physical education major from Bowie, Texas, and Voth, a junior pre-physical therapy major from Hooker both carry 4.00 grade point averages.

Branson is a senior math education major from Prague. Stukey is a senior biology major from Broken Arrow, and Majed is a senior exercise science major from Tulsa.
