In the first meet of the season, Oklahoma Baptist qualified seven
potential entries in the NAIA Indoor Nationals, competing Friday in the
University of Kansas Bob Timmons Classic.
OBU had four automatic qualifying marks and three B standards.
Aspen Marical qualified in the women's 60 meter hurdles in 9.17 seconds and
Travis Hinton qualified in the men's 600 yard run, finishing third at 1:13.60.
OBU's other two automatic marks came in the pole vault.
Juan Gonzales qualified on the men's side, clearing 15-7, while
Evan Shimanek punched her ticket at 11-5.75, finishing second on the women's side.
Hannah Helker met the B standard in the women's 1000 meters at 3:03.93 and
Uniqua Cooper reached the B standard in the women's 200 meters at 25.98.
OBU's 4x400 relay team of
Travis Bish,
Ross Harlan, Hinton and
Roman Gray qualified with a B standard 3:21.41.
OBU returns to action Dec. 9 at the Doane Holiday Multi-Event Meet in Crete, Neb.
