Oklahoma Baptist started the spring golf season with a
fifth-place finish at the Mary Hardin-Baylor Lady Cru Spring Invitational
Tuesday.
OBU shot 680 as a team. Western Texas won at 612, followed by Oklahoma Christian at 621, Wayland Baptist at 636 and UMHB at 650.
Southwestern was sixth at 686, followed by UC-Santa Cruz at 716, Berry at 732, Hardin-Simmons at 774 and St. Thomas at 878.
Marisa Cones led OBU with a pair of 79s for 158 and ninth place.
Whitney Manley shot 83 and 87 for 170 to finish 25th. Amanda Hillemeyer was 29th at 176, shooting 90 and 86. Brittany Beckett was 34th at 179 on an 88 and a 91, while Kali Schmidt fired an 87 and a 95 for a 39th-place 182.
Gabriella Dellick shot 94 and 95 for 189 and 42nd place.
OBU returns to action March 19 in Daytona, Fla., at the Embry-Riddle Tournament.
