Oklahoma Baptist swept the first-ever Shawnee Shootout Series in volleyball, taking a 3-0 victory at St. Gregory's Tuesday night, 25-14, 25-18, 25-12.

The first set was tied 13-13 before the Lady Bison went on a game-ending 12-1 run, including three kills by Kim Galarza.

OBU trailed 15-12 in the second match before taking that one over as well, this time with a 13-3 run fueled by two kills each by Tasha White, Galarza and Marsherrie Madkins.

The third set was never in doubt as OBU started with a 7-3 lead with two kills by Madkins and then put together a pair of 6-0 runs to take a 19-6 advantage.
Galarza led OBU with 11 kills, followed by Lacy Stone with nine. Brittany Palmer had 35 assists and Madkins had two aces.

Cassie Winker led the Lady Bison with 19 digs, while Galarza was credited with two blocks.

Now 24-15 overall, OBU finished the regular season with a 6-8 Sooner Athletic Conference record and in fifth place.

The Lady Bison will play at 10 a.m., Thursday, in the SAC Tournament at Oklahoma City University against OCU, Wayland Baptist or John Brown, depending on the outcome of the rest of Tuesday night's schedule.
