Oklahoma Baptist's six seniors combined for 15 hits and 11 RBI in a 10-1, 9-0 Senior Day sweep of Southwestern Assemblies of God University Saturday at Lady Bison Park.

 

Kelly Fink led that group with four hits and three RBI.


 

OBU scored in the first inning of the opener when Audrey Branscum walked, stole second and third and scored on a wild pitch.

 

The Lady Lions got their only run of the day when Iliana Jiminez reached on an error ahead of a triple by Bree Lawrence.

 

OBU broke the tie in the bottom of the second on a solo home run by Kenna Self.

 

The Lady Bison broke it open with an eight-run fourth inning. Krystal Johnson stole home and Katelynn Garrett added an RBI single before a three-run home run by Alison Tunnell for a 7-1 lead. Self added a two-run single and scored on Fink's second hit of the inning.

 

OBU had 11 hits in the game, including three by Fink and two each Candace Holden and Self.

 

Cassidi Henderson (9-8) went the distance, allowing one unearned run on four hits while striking out nine batters.

 

The Lady Bison didn't waste any time in the second game, scoring seven in the first inning.

 

Branscum, Garrett, Ashley Clifton, Tunnell and Destinee Santistevan - the first five batters in the lineup - all singled with Clifton getting one RBI and Santistevan two for a quick 3-0 lead. After a run scored on an error, Fink had a two-run single and Branscum had a sacrifice fly for the 7-0 lead.

 

The Lady Bison added two more on a two-run home run by Holden in the second.

 

OBU had 11 hits in the game with two each by Clifton and Santistevan.

 

Noelle McDowell (8-10) struck out seven and allowed just an infield single in the complete-game win.

 

Now 21-21, the Lady Bison host East Central Tuesday in the Strikeout Cancer Game, starting at 5 p.m.
