Oklahoma Baptist shredded Bacone pitching for 13 runs and 20 hits in a 13-4 win in Muskogee Monday.

 

Mitch Prophet had four hits, Yael Colon, Daniel Baptista and Frankie Rivera had three each and Greg Nelson, Michael Cerda and Skyler Ellis two apiece in the rout.


 

Bacone's four runs were all unearned in the fifth inning.

 

OBU broke a scoreless tie in the second inning with a two-run home run by Rivera and an RBI single by Nelson.

 

Baptista added a solo home run in the third for a 4-0 lead.

 

The Bison scored five in the fourth inning. Baptista had an RBI double, Cerda singled in a run and two scored on a double by Ellis. Rivera made it 9-0 with an RBI double.

 

Up 9-4, the Bison scored three in the seventh on RBI single by Prophet and Dillon Usiak, along with a sacrifice fly by Cerda.

 

Ellis capped the scoring with a solo home run in the eighth.

 

Rogers (4-2) pitched four shutout innings to pick up the win.

 

OBU returns to Sooner Athletic Conference action Tuesday at 3 p.m. with a contest at St. Gregory's.
