Oklahoma Baptist has signed Lucas Christian Academy senior Emily Montgomery for the women's track and field team.
Montgomery competes in the heptathlon and 400 meter hurdles.
She is a three-time TCAF State Champion under Coaches Nathan Layman and J'Aime Gray in the long jump, high jump and 100 meter hurdles, two-time State Champion in the 300 meter hurdles, and has State Championships in the 800 meters, triple jump, 400 meters and 200 meters. She holds the State TCAF record in the long jump (17-10), triple jump, high jump (5-5), 100 hurdles (15.07), 300 hurdles (46.14), 800 meters (2:19.79) and 200 meters (27.27).
Competing for Texas Express under Coach John Turek, Montgomery placed seventh in the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics heptathlon with 4376 points last year. She placed fourth in 2010 and seventh in the 400 hurdles at 1:04.40.
The valedictorian and Senior Class President at LCA, Emily is the daughter of Dan and Brenda Montgomery. She plans to major in exercise science.
