Oklahoma Baptist split its Sooner Athletic Conference softball doubleheader in Chickasha Tuesday, sealing the final spot in the SAC Tournament.

OBU lost the opener, 4-3, in eight innings before holding off a last-inning Drover rally for a 3-2 win in the finale.

USAO scored first in the second inning on an RBI triple by Markie Laferney, but OBU tied the score in the fourth when Ashley Clifton scored on a two-out RBI single by Destinee Santistevan.

The Drovers made it 2-1 in the fifth on a Kayla Adams RBI single. OBU again knotted the score, this time in the sixth on an RBI fielder's choice by Santistevan. The Lady Bison had bases loaded with one out but couldn't punch across the go-ahead run.

The game went to extra innings and OBU scored a run and had Clifton at third after an error with no outs in the eighth, but Nesha Sorrell struck out the next three Lady Bison.

USAO tied the score on a sacrifice fly by Laferney in the bottom of the eighth and won on a passed ball in the ninth.

Chianelle Flores got the loss without allowing an earned run in 3.2 innings of work.

OBU had four hits - all singles - and struck out 14 times in the game.

The Lady Bison fell behind 1-0 in the second game on an error in the second inning.

OBU was scoreless until the sixth inning. Audrey Branscum singled and Amanda Harmon walked before Alison Tunnell doubled to left center for two RBI. Kenna Self doubled in Tunnell with two outs for a 3-1 Lady Bison lead.

USAO loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh, including a bad-hop single. Katelynn Garrett fielded a ground ball and got a force at home for the second out of the inning, but Taylor Smith walked to force in a run and put the tying run at third. Noelle McDowell got Kristin Moyers on a fly out to left to end the game.

McDowell struck out eight batters to pick up the complete-game win.

Now 22-28 on the season and 8-18 in the SAC, the Lady Bison will be the eight seed in the SAC Tournament, which starts Friday at the Hall of Fame Stadium complex in Oklahoma City. OBU will play either Lubbock Christian or Oklahoma City in the first round of the double-elimination tournament.
