Elgin High School's John Wayne has signed with the Oklahoma Baptist University track team.

Wayne is a pole vaulter with a best height of 12-6. He was the 2011 high point award winner in field events and a member of Coach Jon Hughes and Tomi Lorah's 2012 regional championship squad.

Wayne is the son of Kari Wayne and Tim Wayne.

"OBU is a great campus, great atmosphere and the best school I checked into," Wayne said.
