Hannah Helker and Evan Shimanek turned in the second-best marks in the NAIA in their respective events and Oklahoma Baptist added three entrants to its NAIA Meet roster at the OBU Last Chance Meet Thursday night.
Helker improved her time in the 800 to 2:09.42 in winning the event, shaving almost two seconds off her previous best time and moving into second in the NAIA ranks. She also met the automatic qualifying standard in the 400 meters, adding her name to the entries list in that event with a 56.88.
Shimanek cleared 12-4 to move into second in the pole vault nationally.
Travis Hinton met the B standard in the men's 400 meters at 48.46.
Uniqua Cooper met the B standard in the 100 meters at 12.64 seconds.
Next up for OBU is the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marion, Ind., May 24-26.
