Oklahoma Baptist University football has added Southwestern Oklahoma State transfer Kimes Gilbert.
Gilbert, a defensive end, played at Southmoore High School under current OBU Coach Chris Jensen. He was a state powerlifting champion and had 100 knockdowns. He also had a 4.5 grade point average and plans to major in mathematics education.
He played in nine games and had 13 tackles and a fumble recovery as a freshman at Southwestern under Coach Dan Cocannouer.
Gilbert is the son of Bryan and Luann Gilbert.
"I felt led to come here," Gilbert said. "I know this is where God wants me and am very excited to play for OBU and the great staff."
