Oklahoma Baptist has added West Valley College pitcher Brandon Willard to its baseball roster for the 2012-13 season.

Willard, a junior-to-be from San Jose, Calif., was Senior of the Year and a junior All-League pitcher for Prospect High School. At West Valley, he had a 1.42 earned run average as a sophomore. His freshman season, he had a 2.55 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .121 batting average for Coach Rick Wiens.

"We are extremely excited about adding Brandon to our pitching staff and our 2012-13 roster," said OBU Associate Head Coach Chris Klimas. "He has been very successful for two seasons as a short reliever at West Valley College, and we anticipate him being a big help on the back end of the bullpen this spring."

The son of Gary Willard and Trish Willard, Brandon is majoring in kinesiology.

"I chose to attend OBU to further my education and to continue playing baseball on a great team and for a great program," Willard said.
