Bay Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year Hannah Wilbur has signed with Oklahoma Baptist University's softball team.
The Walnut Creek, Calif., native earned the Pitcher of the Year distinction while at Solano Community College her sophomore season after posting a 1.37 earned run average. She had 205 strikeouts in 177.2 innings of work, while walking 47 for Coach Terri Pearson-Bloom's Falcons. Wilbur was 21-7 on the season with seven shutouts and a no-hitter.
Wilbur, who stands 5-11, was also on the 2012 All-State team and 2011 All-Academic Team.
"We're pretty excited to get Hannah here," said Lady Bison Coach Pam Fink. "She will be a big part of our pitching staff next season."
Wilbur placed for Coach Victor Silva at Acalanes High School, where she was All-Academic and part of a co-championship team in addition to being a two-time MVP Pitcher Award winner.
She is the daughter of Tim and Michelle Wilbur.
"I chose OBU because I liked the atmosphere and the location," Wilbur said. "When I visited, the staff and coaches were really nice and helpful. I felt this is a place I could fit in and have fun."
