Oklahoma Baptist has signed Fullerton College ace Richard Lucas for the 2012-13 baseball season.

Lucas was 6-3 for Fullerton under Coach Nick Fuscardo with 13 starts and three complete games. He earned All-Conference honors.

"We are extremely excited about adding Richard to our pitching staff," said OBU Associate Head Coach Chris Klimas. "We are counting on him to anchor our starting rotation, which he is more than capable of doing by matching the other team's No. 1 and garnering First-Team All-Conference honors in California's highly-talented Orange Empire Conference."

The right-hander was 9-2 his senior season at El Dorado High School in Placentia, Calif., earning Varsity Cy Young Award for Coach Dave Moore's team.

The son of Rick and Lourdes Lucas, Richard is majoring in sports management.

"I want to be a part of such a respected program as OBU," Lucas said.
