Oklahoma Baptist flexed its Sooner Athletic Conference muscle Monday in a 93-66 blowout win over USAO in the Noble Complex.

"There's no doubt that that was our best game of the season," said OBU coach Doug Tolin. "I think every phase of the game was the best we've done thus far. We didn't shoot great from the three-point line, but thankfully we figured out that we didn't need to shoot threes."

OBU never trailed in the game and blew open a four-point game with a 7-0 run in which Nate Brumfield scored five of his game-high 25 points.

"What Nate can do is something else," Tolin said. "He just explodes. He's always on balance."

The Bison got a 10-0 run - on four lay-ups and a dunk - to jump out to a 36-18 lead with 5:19 left in the first half. OBU had a 48-24 edge by halftime.

The lead peaked at 73-42 after a 9-0 Bison run ended at the 10:08 mark of the game. Brent Jones scored four points in that spree.

Charles Carter went for 11 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double in the game, while Jones had 14 points and eight board and Justin Williams racked up 12 points.

"I just tried to help the team win," said Carter. "We tried to focus on our dfense in practice because we knew they could make shots. We tried to focus more on rebounds in the second half."

Now 11-2 on the season and 4-1 in the SAC, the Bison hit the road Thursday to play at John Brown. Game time is 8 p.m. The game can be heard on the internet through www.obubison.com.
