Oklahoma Baptist completed a three-game sweep of USAO in Sooner Athletic Conference baseball action, sweeping the Drovers 9-8 and 5-2 Saturday in Chickasha.

OBU jumped up for three runs to start the opener with a two-run home run by Arin Fowble and an RBI single by Billy Thomas.

USAO took a 4-3 lead in their half of the first, but OBU tied it in the second on a Matt Welch home run.

The Drovers led 7-4 after the second. The Bison responded with a Thomas home run in the third and a three-run fourth that included RBI singles b y Thomas and Victor Manzano and an RBI ground out by Justin Trejo.

Josh Kirkpatrick added the ninth run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly.

The Drovers got one run in the seventh and had two runners in scoring position before Ryan Stavert came in to get the save.

Brent Robison picked up the win in relief.

OBU had nine hits, including three by Billy Thomas and two by Fowble.

The Drovers reached Josh Palmer for two runs in the first inning of the second game, but shut the door after that with Stavert getting the last four outs for another save.

OBU tied the game in the second on an error and a sacrifice fly by Welch.

Josh Collazo hit his 11th home run to deliver two runs and a 4-2 Bison lead in the third.

Thomas doubled in a run in the fifth.

The Bison collected eight hits in the game, including two each by Collazo, Manzano and Trejo.

The Bison (15-6, 4-5) host Calumet College Tuesday.
