Oklahoma Baptist freshman Chase Lindsey topped Pinkie Hartline of Texas A&M Commerce in a playoff to take the Red River Intercollegiate golf tournament hosted by East Central University Tuesday.

Lindsey, who shot a 74 on Monday, roared back from five strokes back to tie Hartline and then take top medalist honors with a 70 on Tuesday.

As a team, the Bison rallied from back in the pack in ninth place to finish second to Northeastern State with a second-round best 288. OBU had shot 304 on Monday.

Lindsey won his first college tournament and was joined in the top 10 by French classmates Clement Batut and Xavier Diana, who finished in a ninth-place tie at 148. Batut shot 76 on Monday and 72 on Tuesday, while Diana followed a 77 with a 71.

Alex Hamilton was 37th at 152 with a 77 and a 75. Arnaud Cotton was 75th at 163, shooting 86 and 77.

Zac Rawls shot 81 and 79 for 160 and 69th place as an individual entrant.

The Lady Bison finished 11th at 694, led by Amy Mashburn in 29th place at 166. She had an 84 and an 82.

Laura Cummins shot 174 (88-86) for 49th place, followed by Kali Schmidt (91-86) and Bailey Bearden (89-88), both at 177 and tied for 51st. Amanda Hillemeyer was 56th at 182 (92-90). Kari Goen represented OBU as an individual entrant, shooting 184 (97-87) for 58th place.

The Bison are at Texas Wesleyan's Invitational next week, while the Lady Bison resume action at Southwestern Kansas along with the Bison March 23.
