Oklahoma Baptist logged 21 runs in sweeping Hastings College Monday, taking the first game in an 11-1 run-rule and the second, 10-1.

The Bison got a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a Jonathan Carnes home run, but Hastings tied the score in the third.

OBU added one in the fourth on an RBI ground out by Carnes.

The game that had the makings of a pitchers duel blew up on Hastings in the sixth inning when OBU struck for nine runs to end the game.

Anthony Ramirez had an RBI single, Arin Fowble added an RBI ground out and Billy Thomas added a two-run double to make it 6-1. Chad Dawkins added an RBI double and Josh Collazo an RBI single.

Carnes added a two-run double and scored on an error to finish off the game.

Spencer Hylander allowed the one run over six innings to pick up the win. He struck out nine and allowed just four hits and a pair of walks.

OBU had 13 hits, led by Dawkins and Carnes with three each, while Billy Jarka added two.

The Bison posted seven runs in the second inning of the second game and cruised from there.

A run-scoring error was followed by an RBI single by Thomas, bases-loaded walks by Collazo and Fowble and an RBI single by Justin Trejo. Manzano added a sacrifice fly in the inning.

Hastings scored one in the sixth but OBU added its final three in that same inning on a three-run triple by Austin Berg.

Arvin Perez went the distance for the Bison, getting the win while allowing one run on seven hits and two walks. He struck out seven hitters.

OBU had six hits with Thomas leading the way with two.

Now 20-8 overall, the Bison host Midland Lutheran Tuesday at 1 p.m.
