Sixth-ranked Oklahoma Baptist narrowly missed taking third in the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Golf Tournament, taking fourth behind fourth-ranked Wayland Baptist by a stroke Tuesday at the Shawnee Country Club.

OBU shot a 296 on the final round of the tournament, clipping WBU by a stroke on the day, but the Bison trailed by two heading into the action.

Top-ranked Oklahoma Christian defeated No. 3 Oklahoma City on the third hole of a team playoff to claim the win. Both squads finished at 862 in regulation.

Wayland Baptist was third at 885, followed by OBU at 886, Lubbock Christian at 900, No. 17 Southern Nazarene at 905, Mid-America Christian at 994, Northwestern Oklahoma State at 1047 and John Brown at 1076.

The Bison will likely advance to the national tournament with as an at-large selection.

Chase Lindsey of OBU was on the All-Conference team as the fifth-place finisher. He shot 72 on the final round to finish at 216.

Alex Hamilton was 12th at 221 after a final round 74. Clement Batut also shot 74 and finished at 223 for 19th place. Arnaud Cotton was 36th with a 246, shooting 82 on the final day.

Zac Rawls competed as an individual, finishing at 240 with a third-round 76 to finish 32nd.

OC's Fernando Gonzales won the tournament with a 210. He and Lindsey were joined on the All-Conference team by To Erik Knudsen of OC, Anthony Michael and Clark Collier of Oklahoma City, Michael Loppnow of Wayland Baptist and Michael Milliken of Lubbock Christian.
