The Lady Bison improved to 14-3 overall and 12-0 against NAIA schools with a 25-21, 25-15, 18-25, 25-20 win at Texas Wesleyan Saturday night.

OBU trailed the first set, 5-1, but would use a 6-0 rally, included a pair of aces by Tamy Leipelt, for an 11-7 lead. The Lady Bison later found themselves behind, 19-17, but Tamy Leipelt and Derden had two kills each in a game-ending 8-2 run.

OBU blew open a 6-4 second set with a 9-0 run that included three kills and a block assist by Hamilton.

After losing the third set, 25-18, OBU blew a 16-7 lead and saw the Lady Rams tie the score, 19-19. The Lady Bison responded with defense, getting three blocks in the match-clinching 6-1 run. Derden had two block assists in the spree.

Derden led OBU with 14 kills and three block assists. Tamy Leipelt had a dozen kills, 13 digs and three aces. Clark had 14 assists and 14 digs. Cassie Winker led with 23 digs.

OBU resumes action Tuesday at home, opening the Sooner Athletic Conference schedule with Mid-America Christian. The match begins at 7:30 p.m.
