Oklahoma Baptist added itself to a four-way logjam atop the Sooner
Athletic Conference women's soccer standings Tuesday night with a 2-1
double-overtime win at Oklahoma Christian.
Now 3-1 in the SAC, OBU is tied with John Brown, Rogers State and Southern Nazarene, while Oklahoma City and USAO are both at 2-1.
The Lady Bison beat the reigning SAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row, putting two goals past Allie Cofer. OBU's win at Rogers State a week ago came at the expense of National Player of the Week Bailey Lynn.
The Eagles took a first-half lead in the 21st minute with a tally by Kacie Hoppe and that leas held up until the second half.
Lin Yan got the answer for OBU in the 76th minute and the 1-1 count lasted through regulation time and the first overtime period.
Mengjun Zang got the golden goal on OBU's first shot on goal in extra time, scoring with 4:10 showing on the clock.
OBU had 13 shots in the match, including seven on goal. Zang and Kirsten Morrow had two shots on goal apiece.
Sarah Kathryn Robinson had eight saves for OBU, including one in overtime.
Now 8-4 overall, the Lady Bison have another big test Saturday at 1 p.m., when they travel to Siloam Springs, Ark., to test John Brown.
