Both Oklahoma Baptist cross country teams placed third in the Mid-States Classic, hosted by Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.

The 15th-ranked OBU men were third in a close call among four teams, separated by four points. Colorado College won with 125 points, followed by No. 24 Wayland Baptist with 126, OBU with 127 and Oklahoma Christian with 129. No. 21 Lindenwood was fifth at 133 and No. 23 Doane was sixth at 161 among the 22-team field. Three Bison scorers finished less than a second behind the runner in front of them.

Craig Donnelley led OBU in ninth place at 25:51, followed by Nathan Ellis in 20th at 26:15.Caleb Clark was 28th in 26:28, Brandon Dickinson was 31st in 26:31 and Justin Stroup was 39th in 26:39.

Louie Cook was 47th in 27:00 and Ben Moore was 61st in 27:21.

Also for the OBU men, Trevor Martin was 65th in 27:31, Jordan Sinclair was 67thin 27:33, Neal Ellis was 74th in 27:40, Ryan Brooks was 83rd in 27:56, Nick Blackwell was 86th in 27:58, Nick Hermes was 95th in 28:10, Kyle Craddock was 117th at 28:51 and Ryan Smith was 168th in 30:40.

The Lady Bison also were third among 22 teams with 111 points. Kansas Wesleyan won with 92 points and Oklahoma Christian was second with 108.

Natalie Pedersen led the Lady Bison in 12th place at 19:09, with Meredith Gardner in 19th at 19:36. Kayla Lee was 28th in 19:44, Jessica Herbert was 31st at 19:50 and Aubrie Dolliver rounded out the scoring in 36th in 20:00.

Danielle Cummins was 44th in 20:11 and Sarah Taylor was 55th at 20:30.

Also for OBU, Sarah Branson was 56th at 20:32, Yesenia Avila was 71st at 21:06, Melissa Farias was 85th at 21:37, Samantha Kellogg was 109th at 22:12, Erica Rackley was 119th at 22:33, Kriston Stuckey was 124th at 22:44 and Katy Palmer was 118th at 24:12.

Next action for OBU is Nov. 6 at the Sooner Athletic Conference Meet in Lubbock, Texas.
