Oklahoma Baptist ruined Lubbock Christian's Senior Day and handed the Lady Chaps their first Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball loss of the season, 3-0, Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.

The Lady Bison got 18 kills from Tamy Leipelt and 13 from Chassie Hamilton in the upset win over the 18th-ranked Lady Chaps, ending their 21-match home conference win streak.

"Tamy played amazing," said OBU coach Anna Howle. "Having four people in double-digit digs was the kicker for us. It was an awesome match. We played as a team and were super scrappy on defense."

Lubbock Christian had a 6-3 lead in the opening set but the Lady Bison pulled out a 10-4 run to take a 13-10 lead. LCU battled back and the match was tied at 24-24 before Leipelt produced a kill and LCU made an attack error to give OBU the first set.

The second set saw the teams exchange 14-7 runs to reach a 21-21 tie, with OBU finishing off the Lady Chaps in the set with the help of a block by Skyler Strahm and a set-ending kill by Leipelt.

The Lady Bison dashed out to a 9-2 lead in the final set, getting three kills by Leipelt along the way. Hamilton later added two kills in a 6-0 run to put OBU ahead 23-9. LCU got to within nine before Leipelt and Hamilton got two kills to close out the upset.

Sabra Clark had 40 assists and two aces in the match.

Defensively, OBU got 22 digs from Cassie Winker, 17 from Suyan Leipelt, 15 from Hamilton and 14 from Clark. Strahm had five blocks while Hamilton and Suyan Leipelt had two each.

OBU will be trying for only its second 30-win season Tuesday at home against St. Gregory's. The Lady Bison are 29-9 overall and 8-5 in the SAC. The SGU match begins at 7 p.m.

OBU heads back to Lubbock next weekend for the SAC Tournament.
