A dozen Oklahoma Baptist track and field athletes qualified for the
NAIA National meet with their performances last weekend at the
University of Kansas Bob Timmons Challenge.
The Lady Bison 4x400 relay team of Sarah Patterson, Andrea Mellontree, Shondia Drew and Marissa Moseley qualified with a time of 4:02.09.
Moseley also qualified in the 400 meters in 57.85 seconds. Drew qualified in the 600 meters at 1:38.71, with Optimum Baker earning a B qualifying standard of 1:38.92.
Mellontree didn't qualify in the 800, but won the event in 2:21.44. Nicole Cummings won the triple jump, clearing 38-1.5.
The men's 4x400 relay of Roman Gray, Seagram Kern, Travis Bish and Ethan Mignard qualified in 3:17.64.
Mignard qualified in the 600 meters in 1:21.71. Dakota Price met the B standard in 1:22.99.
Gray was a B standard qualifier in the 400 meters at 49.64 seconds.
Kern was a triple jump B standard qualifier with a leap of 46 feet.
Andy Peffer qualified in the pole vault, clearing 15-7, while Juan Gonzales made the B standard height of 15-1.
Fletcher Carlyle qualified in the high jump, clearing 7-0.25, winning the event by almost four inches over Kansas' Nate Scherzer.
Billy Christy won the 800 meters in 1:58.13.
OBU is schedule to run in the Kansas State All-Comers meet Saturday.
