Oklahoma Baptist University has signed Madill High School standout Kenna Self to a softball scholarship for 2010-11.

Self was a 2009 All-Region selection and a three-time All-Lake County Conference pick. She was her team's Golden Glove and Silver Slugger Award winner and KXII A-Plus Athlete. She also is a member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Kenna comes from an athletic family. Her step-father Travis Scott played baseball at Southeastern; her uncle Randy Raines played baseball at El Reno Junior College and her cousin Kristin Moyers plays softball for North Central Texas College.

She is the daughter of Byron and J.J. Self and Travis and Angela Scott. She plans to major in kinesiology.

Recruited by Angelo State, Howard Junior College, Vernon Junior College and East Central, Self selected OBU because of "the Christian atmosphere and the small school environment."

"We pleased to have Kenna on our team for next year," said Lady Bison coach Pam Fink. "She's pretty versatile as far as the positions she can play."
