Oklahoma Baptist opened its fall tennis schedule with a pair of 9-0 wins over Southwestern College, Kan., last week.
Lady Bison No. 2 singles entrant Paola Costa cruised to 6-0 set wins and then partnered with Samantha Attard for an easy 8-1 win in No. 1 doubles.
Attard dispatched Kelsey Reynolds, 6-1, 6-0, in No. 1 singles.
Brooke Mowery and Camber Robinett won their No. 2 doubles match 8-2 over Reynolds and Kourtney McClelland, who are SC's top singles players. Robinett scored a 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 3 singles over Molly Kearns and Mowery claimed No. 4 singles in a 6-4, 6-2 sweep of Caley Hibbs.
Katie Halbesleben won in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-3, over Julie Wicke. She and Sarah Alexander claimed a forfeit win in No. 3 doubles and Alexander won without playing in No. 6 singles.
Bruno Scacalossi in No. 1 men's singles, and Scott Milner in No. 4 both gave OBU quick 6-0, 6-0 sweeps.
Scacalossi and Gustave Schaefer won in No. 1 doubles, 8-1. Schaefer also topped Jacob Tafoya in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
Milner and Jonathan Lookado claimed No. 3 doubles in 8-1 fashion. Lookado won in No. 6 singles, taking down Jacob Mires, 6-3, 7-5.
Michael Canavan defeated Jason Jeschke in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0, and Lance Ruder topped Matt Hanson in No. 5, 6-2, 6-0. Canavan and Ruder won in second doubles, 8-4.
