Second-ranked Oklahoma Baptist picked up its 20th win of the season Thursday in taking down Wayland Baptist 64-55 in the Noble Complex.

It is the 18th consecutive 20-win season for the program.

The Bison trailed for much of the first half, falling behind by as many as seven points, before going on a half-ending 14-2 run with six points coming from point guard Tim Bowman. OBU led 28-23 at the half and never trailed again.

The Pioneers cut the lead to one on two occasions in the second half, but OBU answered the bell both times.

Still clinging to a four-point lead, Nate Brumfield fed Bowman twice for big three-pointers to get the lead out to 54-44 with 5:21 left in the game. OBU would lead by as many as 14 and cruised home, allowing just one field goal in the final four minutes.

Brumfield led the Bison with 19 points, including a 9 of 10 night from the free throw line. He also had nine rebounds, six assists and two steals - all team-highs.

Bowman added 17 points and Kevin Swinton came up with 11 points and three blocked shots.

Tommie Sanders led the Pioneers with 12 points.

Now 20-1 overall and 12-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, the Bison host Lubbock Christian at 3 p.m. Saturday.
