Oklahoma Baptist reached the semifinals of the Cowtown Classic before having their season-opening win streak stopped at five games by Lubbock Christian, 10-4.


 

The Lady Bison won their fifth straight with a 6-3 win over Evangel, using last-inning power.

 

Down 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth, OBU freshman Krystal Johnson launched a two-run home run to pull within 3-2.

 

In the seventh, Sonya Beach hit a solo home run to tie the game and Ashley Clifton ended it with a three-run home run.

 

Beach picked up the win in relief.

 

Clifton finished with three hits in the game, including a double and a single, while Beach and Johnson had two hits apiece.

 

OBU fell behind 5-0 to LCU in the first and never recovered.

 

Kylie King had a home run and a double, Johnson had a double and a single and two RBI and Clifton had a pair of singles.

 

Now 5-1, the Lady Bison host East Central Thursday.
