Oklahoma Baptist won its eighth straight baseball game Wednesday, sweeping Briar Cliff University, 15-5 and 14-0, in two games shortened by the mercy rule.

OBU has won six of the eight games in the streak by 10 or more runs.

Ryan Plum (2-0) picked up the win and, despite the 10-run final margin, OBU also got a save by Chase Jestice, who entered when the game was still in doubt in the fifth inning.

OBU built an 8-0 lead over the first four innings. Bam Davis had the first of his four RBI in the game with an RBI single in the first.

OBU added three in the third on an RBI ground out by Davis, a run-scoring single by Vic Manzano and an RBI double by Justin Trejo.

The lead swelled to 8-0 in the fourth with an RBI single by Billy Jarka, and RBI doubles by Anthony Lopez, Davis and Shea Brown.

The Chargers rallied in the fifth, scoring five times with an RBI double by Brendon Opsahl, a three-run double by David Kowall and an RBI single by Jacob Olivas.

OBU got four back in the bottom of the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Jarka, RBI singles by Anthony Ramirez and Davis, and a bases-loaded walk drawn by Trejo.

The Bison ended the game in the sixth on a two-run triple by Reece Alnas and a sacrifice fly by Ramirez.

OBU banged out 14 hits, led by Ramirez and Davis with three each, while Jarka added two.

Garret Linhardt took the loss for BCU.

The Bison only had seven hits in the second game, but the Chargers issued 11 walks and committed one error.
Blake Gallacher (2-0) and Tanner Streater shut BCU out on five hits.

OBU scored all its runs in the first two innings. The Bison scored three times in the first on a passed ball, an RBI ground out by Davis and an RBI single by Jonathan Gelpi.

The other 11 runs crossed the plate in the second inning. Jarka had a sacrifice fly for the second out and the first run. The next 11 Bison reached base.

Two runs scored on an error and Gelpi added a two-run single. Sean Iago singled in two more runs and Ramirez did the same a few batters later after an RBI walk by Lopez. Davis got the day's last RBI with a single.

Iago and Gelpi were the only Bison with two hits.

Npw 9-1, the Bison host Oklahoma Christian in a Sooner Athletic Conference doubleheader Thursday at 2 p.m.
