Fifth-ranked Lubbock Christian held off an Oklahoma Baptist rally in the first game and then run-ruled the Lady Bison in the second half of a Sooner Athletic Conference softball twinbill Thursday in Shawnee, 9-5 and 8-0.

OBU fell behind 8-0 in the opener but got on the scoreboard in the fourth on an error. OBU made it 9-2 in the fifth on an RBI double by Abbey Basler. The Lady Bison closed to within 9-3 in the sixth with an RBI single by Theresa Garcia.

Kylie King singled in two runs in the seventh but the Lady Bison left two on base to end the game.

Alyssa Henkes, Sonya Beach and Kaley Dickerson had two hits each for OBU. Amanda Hanner took the loss.

LCU's Alyssa Gutierrez checked OBU on one hit in the second game - a single by Candace Holden.

Now 5-7, OBU heads to Conway, Ark., to play in the Central Baptist Tournament Friday and Saturday.
