Oklahoma Baptist added five new automatic qualifiers in the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships and improved five previous qualifying seeds at the OBU Last Chance Meet Thursday night.

Gayon Evans qualified in the 200 meters with a 24.58 while Verone Chambers qualified in the 400 meters with a 54.77.

Yesi Avila is a new automatic qualifier in the 800 meters with a 2:15.22.

Sarah Taylor put herself into the NAIA 3000 meters steeplechase with a qualifying mark of 11:32.2.

Kim Maley made an automatic qualifying mark in the hammer with a heave of 47.55 meters.

Evan Shimanek improved her seeding in the pole vault, clearing 3.53 meters and Nicole Cummings cleared 11.39 meters to improve her mark in the triple jump.

On the men's side, Tyler Scarborough improved in the triple jump with a 14.08 meter leap and David Gilliland cleared 4.9 meters to improve in the pole vault.

Next action for OBU track is the national meet in Indiana May 27-29.
