Oklahoma Baptist has added 6-5 guard Derick Echols to the men's
basketball roster for the 2010-11 season.
Echols comes to OBU from Paris Junior College, which also brought OBU NAIA Player of the Year DuJuan Bown and All-SAC selection Robert Hart.
Echols started for the TEC Champions under head Coach Tom Shuberth after playing a season at Morehead State.
"Derick is the ultimate blue collar player," Shuberth said. "He does all the little things to help his team win championships! He helped Morehead State go to the NCAA tournament, he helped Paris win the TEC championship this past season, so I know he will fit in great with OBU with all their success and a National Championship. He's a tremendous athlete who can guard anyone on the floor and an excellent rebounder who plays with great intensity."
