Oklahoma Baptist University has signed Edmond North High School state
champion Adam Godwin for the 2010-11 track and cross country seasons.
A distance and middle distance runner in track, Godwin was Class 6A champion in the 3200 and 1600 meters in 2010, earning Jim Thorpe Association Track and Field Athlete of the Year honors. He also was All-State in cross country in 2008 and 2009 in the state's largest division.
The son of Mark and Beth Godwin, Adam intends to major in religion at OBU.
Godwin said he chose OBU because of the "School of Christian Ministry, the religion major and the track and field and cross country programs."
