SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist volleyball recently volunteered to help renovate a church in downtown Shawnee, using the opportunity to
help out the community while growing closer as a team.
Â
The Lady Bison worked at the new Shawnee campus of Frontline, working in teams to help the transition process as the church undergoes a major renovation project.
Â
"The chance to serve Shawnee together as a team allowed us to spend time together off the court as well as giving us the opportunity to give back to the community that we call home," said sophomore
Abigail Corff.
Â
Players assisted in removing old tile floors, moving furniture, cleaning walls, scrubbing floors and other work projects to help with restoration of the newly purchased church. Despite the hard work they put in, the team found a way to make the experience enjoyable and memorable while working together.
Â
"I loved the chance to work hard with my teammates while talking and laughing and joking about. We made it fun and I just love the chance that today and college volleyball in general give me to get to know and do life with my girls," said Corff.
