Pereira is in his third season with the Bison and is an All-Conference performer. He was on the Conference All-Rookie Team at North Carolina-Wilmington, where he also was Topdrawer.com Freshman All-American and was MVP of the Jameson Inn Classic. The son of Maria Sumaia Mendes and the brother of Jonathan Mendes, Pedro is a graduate of Leander High School. Recruited by New Mexico, Southern Methodist, South Carolina, Alabama-Birmingham, Michigan and Harvard, Pedro picked OBU because he "saw it as a great opportunity to grow as a person."
