Marisa was a region runner-up for two-time district champion The Woodlands High School and won the South Central Kansas Fall Invitational, leading the Lady Bison to a team title. She is the daughter of Mark Cones and Susie Galvan. Her father played football at Southern Methodist while her uncle, Thomas Cones, played football at Texas Tech and cousin, Travis Cones, played at Louisiana Tech. Also recruited by Harding, Angelo State, Dallas Baptist and Central Christian, Marisa chose OBU because of ‘the science department."
