Kolt is a transfer from Southwestern Christian and a graduate of Mustang High School, where he played for Coach Will Allen. Kolt placed fifth and seventh in the State Tournament and was a three-time top three finisher at regionals, winning the title in 2009. A business major, Kolt is the son of Ken Byerly and Phyllis Byerly. Recruited by Seminole State and SCU, Kolt chose to come to OBU because "It is a highly prestigious school bot academically and athletically."
