Oklahoma Baptist placed four athletes on the Capital One Academic All-District 7 Track and Cross Country Teams for 2012-13.
Cordell Baker was the lone men's recipient, while Evan Shimanek, Hannah Helker and Aspen Marical were included on the women's side.

MARION, Ind. – Akela Jones and Evan Shimanek put Oklahoma Baptist on the first-day scoreboard at the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday.
Jones recorded a personal-best in the long jump, clearing 20-10 to win OBU's first national title of the meet. Jones reached that distance on her second jump in the finals and passed on the third to avoid injury, winning by nearly a foot. She is in several other events this meet.
