Through the years, 12 current or former OBU athletes have represented the university and their home countries in the Olympic Games.

Harold Cagle won a silver medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, becoming the first, and for now, only Bison to make it to the medal stand.

Five former OBU athletes are participating in the 2016 Rio Games, marking the largest contingent in the program's history.  Three Lady Bison contended at the 2012 Olympics in London.
