Important Information
Oklahoma Baptist University is committed to creating the best possible game day atmosphere for our student-athletes, coaches, fans, and visitors.

On fall Saturdays, thousands of Bison fans descend on the OBU campus to watch the Bison football squad take on Great American Conference and NCAA Division II opponents.

Fans are encouraged to be aware of the following information in order to ensure a quality experience during their time on Bison Hill.


Clear Bag Policy
Beginning fall 2021, OBU Athletics has implemented a clear bag policy at Crain Family Stadium at the Hurt Complex. Clear bags must fit within the current size guidelines for entry, typically 12" w x 6" d x 12 h" (See below). Additionally, one gallon clear plastic bags, and small clutch style purses no larger than 6.5" x 4.5" will be permitted. Consistent with OBU policy, exceptions will be made in the case of medically-necessary and/or childcare-related articles. All carried items and entrants are subject to search.

Prohibited Items
For the safety of student-athletes, coaches and fans, the following items are prohibited at athletics events held on the OBU campus.

All carried items and entrants are subject to search. Prohibited items must be returned to the owner’s car or discarded. Any unlawful items are subject to confiscation, and the person in possession of such items is subject to arrest. Items left at gate will be discarded. Prohibited items include:

 
  • Explosives, firearms or weapons of any kind
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Outside food or drink
  • Tobacco products
  • E-cigarettes/vapes
  • Fireworks
  • Banners and signs
  • Beach balls
  • Telephoto lenses, cameras with detachable lenses and/or lenses longer than 3", tripods, monopods or selfie sticks (with the exception of credentialed media)
  • Backpacks, bags or oversized purses (with the exception of medically necessary or childcare-related items)*
  • Coolers, ice chests or containers
  • Air horns, plastic horns, whistles, etc.
  • Amplified power sound
  • Personal heaters
  • Stadium seats/chairbacks (Chairbacks availabe for rent $10)
  • Laser pointers
  • Umbrellas (ponchos are allowed to protect fans from inclement weather)
  • Animals (with the exception of registered service animals)
*All bags entering the facility will be subject to search by security staff
 

Stadium Information
The Eddie Hurt Jr. Athletic Complex is home to OBU Football and OBU Track and Field. On Saturdays throughout the fall, more than 4,000 fans fill Crain Family Stadium to cheer on their beloved Bison.

OBU has sold out each home football game since reviving the program in 2013 and boasts the highest average attendance for non-NCAA Division I collegiate football games in the state.

New bleachers and a new video board were installed in 2013 making the complex one of the best venues for small college football in Oklahoma.

Parking Information
Free and Paid Game Day Parking
With the exception of reserved lots, all multi-purpose (non-housing) parking lots on the OBU campus are open and available for free game day parking. Multi-purpose lots are located northwest of Raley Chapel on the south side of MacArthur, as well as south of the Bailey Business Center on the north side of Midland Street. Overflow parking is available at the OBU Soccer Complex and Bison Baseball and Softball Fields on Raley Drive, north of MacArthur.

Reserved Lots
OBU reserves three parking lots for BAA members on football game days. Passes for these lots should be displayed prominently on the vehicle's rearview mirror or dashboard. Patrons with BAA parking passes should be prepared to show their passes and have them marked as they enter their designated parking lot.

Patrons with Platinum Lot parking passes should park in the reserved space designated on their pass.

Disability Parking
All designated handicap parking spaces on campus are available on a first-come, first-served basis for patrons with a handicap parking permit. OBU reserves a number of additional spaces for handicap/accessible parking on game days on the south side of University Street adjacent to the tennis courts.

Fans with accessibility needs may also drop off in the designated pull through area on the north side of University Street near the main entrance to the RAWC.

RV Parking
Fans who wish to park an RV or other oversized vehicle on campus should contact OBU Athletics at 405.585.5411 for information.

Bus Parking
Visiting team buses will drop off east of the intramural fields, near the visitor’s locker room on the west side of the Agee Residence Center. Visiting team buses and any other buses or oversized vehicles will be directed to park at the baseball/softball fields north of MacArthur on Raley Drive.

 

Tailgating Policies
The intramural fields located directly east of Crain Family Stadium at the Hurt Complex are the preferred location for tailgating on campus. Entry onto the access road closest to the intramural field closes 2 hours before game time to prepare for Bison Walk which begins 1.5 hours before game time.  

Tailgating activity that takes up vacant parking spaces or that interferes with vehicle movement within parking lots is prohibited. Tents, awnings, and similar items that require ground stakes are prohibited on parking surfaces. 
 
Generators
Generators may be used so long as they do not damage University property; if a generator is placed on a grassy area it must rest on a board or other hard material to protect the grass and soil beneath. 
 
Grilling, Fires
Food and beverages shall be for personal consumption only. Sales are prohibited.

Gas and charcoal grills with covers are permitted. Open flames are prohibited.
 
Corporate Tailgates
Corporate or commercially sponsored tailgates are prohibited without the expressed written consent of OBU Athletics. Companies are prohibited from issuing free or sample products without proper approval from the university. Those who wish to organize and provide corporate tailgates or issue samples on campus should contact OBU Athletics at 405.585.5300.

Vehicles 
Small non-university vehicles such as golf carts, all-terrain vehicles,etc., are prohibited on campus, and are subject to impound. Bicycles should be parked at bike racks provided throughout campus.

Trailer parking is allowed in reserved lots, but a permit is required for the vehicle, as well as an additional permit(s) for the trailer or other tailgating activity that may take up a parking space.

Tobacco
The use of any and all tobacco products is strictly prohibited on all university property. 
 


Accessing the Stadium
Crain Family Stadium at the Hurt Complex is located on the west edge of the OBU campus, situated on the southeast corner of MacArthur Street and Airport Road. Pedestrians coming to the stadium from the south can cross University Street, then follow sidewalks between the RAWC and Jay P. Chance Indoor Track Building. Fans approaching from the east can follow the sidewalk on the north side of University Street, before turning between the RAWC and Jay P. Chance Indoor Track Building.

Those parking across Airport Road on the west side of the stadium can cross Airport Road and proceed south down the sidewalk on the east side of the road.

General Public
Gates 1 and 2 are for general public entry. An access management system is used for entry at all gates. The bar code on each ticket will be scanned by the gate attendant. Each individual is encouraged to hold their own ticket to assist in expediting the scanning process. If a ticket is damaged and cannot be scanned, fans should visit the Ticket Office located between Gates 1 and 2. Gates open to the public one hour prior to kickoff.

OBU Students, Faculty & Staff
Students and OBU Employees may enter the stadium by scanning their OBU ID at Gate 2. Gates open one hour prior to kickoff.

OBU faculty and staff and their immediate families get in for FREE by scanning their OBU ID for each family member. 

Re-Entry Policy
Patrons may re-enter Crain Family Stadium and the Hurt Complex with a ticket/ticket stub through the same gate they exited the stadium.

 

Special Seating Requirements
OBU offers ADA seating on a season and single game basis in both general admission and reserved sections. Seats are typically sold in sets of two (2): one (1) for the person in need of assistance and one (1) for a companion. Patrons wishing to purchase ADA seats prior to game day should contact OBU Athletics at 405.585.5300 to reserve those seats. ADA seats are also available for purchase online. All ADA seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Student Disability Seating
ADA seating is available in the general admission student section(s). Inform an usher or game day staff in the student section that you need disability seating and they will direct you to the seating area. Wheelchair spaces and companion seats are available in the aforementioned area. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
 


Stadium Regulations
Unauthorized solicitation inside or outside the stadium is prohibited. Throwing objects onto the playing field is prohibited and punishable by state and local law. Violators are subject to immediate arrest, prosecution, and revocation of ticket(s).

Any person who enters the field area without the appropriate university-issued credential is trespassing and is subject to immediate arrest, prosecution, and revocation of ticket(s), credential(s), etc. All signs, banners, placards and leaflets are prohibited inside the stadium except as authorized in advance by OBU Athletics. Management reserves the right to eject, and revoke any ticket to future events without refund, any person who violates any of the terms of the license (see back of ticket) or any state, local, or federal laws. Violators are subject to immediate arrest, prosecution, and permanent revocation of ticket(s) or other credential(s).

 

Evacuation Procedures
Your cooperation and assistance are major factors in OBU's security and emergency weather procedures. In the unlikely event of an emergency or severe weather, fans are asked to follow these procedures:
  • Remain calm at all times.
  • Listen to and follow all instructions that will be provided to you promptly over the public address system (PA).
  • Remain in your seat until you are promptly instructed to the safest exit. Please note that the exit nearest you may not be the safest exit.
  • You may be directed to exit onto the field and out the field gates located on the field.
  • Assist others and exit in a controlled and calm manner as instructed.
  • If you see or become aware of any activity that is unusual, suspicious, or causes you concern, please reports that activity to the nearest uniformed officer or security staff.
  • Usual exit locations are listed below. In case of an emergency or severe weather, please wait for and listen to instructions from the public address system.
    • Fans seated in sections 1-3 and the press box, please use west exit - Gate 3
    • Fans seated in general admission, please use southeast exits - Gates 1 and 2
    • Fans seated in the Touchdown Club, please use southeast exits - Gate 1 and 2
    • Fans in standing room only sections, please use southeast exits - Gates 1 and 2
 

A-to-Z
Alcoholic Beverages:
Alcoholic beverages of any kind are prohibited on the OBU campus.

Animals: No pets or animals of any kind are allowed in the facilities, with the exception of service animals used by disabled guests.

Band Performance: The Bison Brigade's pre-game activities include a march to the stadium from Raley Chapel beginning 20 minutes prior to kickoff. The band will also perform at halftime of each home game.

Banners & Signs: Only banners approved by OBU Athletics may be displayed in designated areas.

Bison Walk: Fans are invited to join the Bison Brigade, OBU spirit squads and player families for the "Bison Walk" as the football team arrives at the stadium. The Bison Walk will take place two hours prior to kickoff. Fans are encouraged to line the walkway from University Street to the north side of the RAWC as the team arrives.

Camera Policy: Point-and-shoot cameras are permissible. No video cameras, professional camera equipment or long telephoto lenses, including detachable lenses and/or lenses longer than 3" allowed.

Campaigning: No picketing, leafletting, sign, displays or peddling is permitted within 300 feet of the stadium on game day.

Chair Backs: Fans in bleacher seating may bring their own chairbacks, provided they meet the requirements noted above. Chairbacks are subject to search upon entry into the stadium.

Checked Items: If a guest has items that cannot be brought into the facility, those items are not to be left at the gate for pickup after the game.

Concessions: Concession stands are located in multiple locations throughout the stadium, including the south lawn and west side between the timing building and bleachers. No outside food or beverages will be permitted inside Crain Family Stadium at the Hurt Complex.

Disability Seating: For information on disability seating call OBU Athletics at 405.585.5300 or visit the Ticket Office located between Gates 1 and 2 on game days.

Evacuation: In case of evacuation, instructions will be relayed via the public address system. Gate personnel and ushers will assist you in exiting the stadium.

Exiting After Games: Guests will leave the facilities via the main gates. No guests are permitted on the field.

First Aid: Emergency Medical Personnel are located in the southeast corner of the Hurt Complex, near Gate 2.

Gates Open: The student and faculty/staff gate (Gate 2) opens one and a half hours prior to kickoff. All other gates open one hour prior to kickoff.

Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, guests will be advised to seek shelter immediately.

Lost Children: Parents/guardians with a lost child should contact the nearest police officer or event staff member. If a child gets separated, he/she should notify the nearest police officer or event staff member.

Lost & Found: Lost items recovered during the game will be delivered to security staff at Gate 1 (southeast corner of the stadium). After the game, unclaimed items will be taken to the OBU Athletics administrative offices located on the fourth floor of the Storer Wing of the Agee Residence Center east of the stadium. Items with a serial number (cell phones, electronic devices, etc.) will be taken to the OBU Police Department. Contact OBU Athletics regarding any lost items at 405.585.5300.

Merchandise & Game Programs: Merchandise stands are located along the concourse on the southwest side of the stadium. Game programs are electronic and can be viewed by scanning the QR code on your seat.

Radios/Televisions: Single speaker radios and hand-held televisions are allowed in the stadium only if they do not interfere with others' enjoyment of the game. Ipads are allowed inside the stadium, but laptops are not allowed.

Re-Entry: Re-entry to the stadium is permissible with a ticket stub.

Security: On-duty police patrol throughout the stadium and have at least one officer stationed at the timing building on the southwest side of the stadium.

Smoking: OBU's tobacco-free policy prohibits the use of all tobacco products (cigarettes - traditional and electronic, chewing tobacco, vapes, pipes, cigars, snuff, snus, hookah, bidis, clover cigarettes or water pipe smoking) on the entire OBU Campus and all university owned, operated, leased, and/or controlled properties.

Throwing Items: Throwing items will not be tolerated. Offenders will be removed from the stadium and are subject to arrest. A police officer does not have to witness the activity to have the person removed.

Tickets: Tickets can be purchased online at
OBUBison.com/Tickets. The OBU Athletics Game Day Ticket Office is located between Gates 1 and 2 on the southeast side of the Hurt Complex and is available for Will Call and accessible seating inquiries only. Will Call opens at least two (2) hours prior to kickoff on game days. Photo identification must be presented in order to receive Will Call items.The OBU Athletics Ticket Office is not responsible for, and cannot guarantee, the authenticity of any tickets purchased from someone other than the Ticket Office

Tobacco Use: OBU's tobacco-free policy prohibits the use of all tobacco products (cigarettes - traditional and electronic, vapes, chewing tobacco, pipes, cigars, snuff, snus, hookah, bidis, clover cigarettes or water pipe smoking) on the entire OU Campus and all University owned, operated, leased, and/or controlled properties.

Video Cameras: Video cameras are prohibited inside of the stadium.

Video: Video rights related to the conduction of this game are authorized by the Great American Conference. Video may not be reproduced or retransmitted in any form, and the accounts and descriptions of the game, including live game action and any other video from within the facility may not be disseminated without express written consent.
