Tori Wright returned to Oklahoma Baptist as an assistant coach in 2022 after spending three years as the head coach at Royse City High School in Texas.
During her current tenure on the sideline with the Bison, she has helped guide the program to a pair of GAC Tournament titles, two NCAA Tournament appearances, and a stellar 79-33 record. Wright has also helped coach 14 all-conference honorees, two all-region selections, and one All-American, alongside 10 CSC Academic All-District selections.
Prior to returning to Bison Hill, Wright (formerly Orms) served as an assistant coach at Colleyville Heritage, Independence, and Ralph H. Poteat high schools in the Lone Star State before taking over at Royse City, where she led the program to two state playoff appearances.
As a standout student-athlete for the green and gold from 2009-12, Wright appeared in 92 matches during her collegiate career. A three-time Sooner Athletic Conference champion, she capped off her senior year in 2012 by earning both the NAIA Champions of Character award and the prestigious Bison Award for Leadership.
That same 2012 squad finished the season ranked fifth nationally in the NAIA National Poll, winning a school-record 35 matches en route to a national quarterfinal appearance.
A native of Carrollton, TX, Wright played her high school volleyball at Hebron High School, where she was part of a program that went 41-5 and finished as the runner-up at the 2005 UIL State Tournament. Hebron qualified for the UIL postseason in each of her four seasons.
